ANA KEFR: New Song Posted Online
March 18, 2009Riverside, California-based philosophy-metal band ANA KEFR has posted the song "The Orchid" on its MySpace page. The track comes off the group's self-produced debut album, "Volume 1", which is scheduled for release through the group's own imprint label, Muse Sick Records, on June 1.
Commented guitarist and backing vocalist Kyle Coughran: "When I originally began writing 'The Orchid', I envisioned more of a rock groove-oriented kind of song, a darker AC/DC. What I brought to the guys was actually just three minutes. Bryce, Trent and Rhiis each ended up adding three minutes of their own ideas, as well as altering mine, so that it ended up being nearly 10 minutes, and pretty epic-sounding. It was actually the first song we added keys to. It has always surprised me that this song is a fan-favorite, I never expected people to latch onto it but it's the song we're always asked to play. Its place at the end of the album fits well for me, it's a release after the madness of the songs before it. "
"Volume 1" was recorded and mastered at Dinky Music Recording Studios in Corona, California and features guest appearances by MY RUIN lead screamer Tairrie B and guitarist Mick Murphy, as well as Billie Stevens of HANDSOME DEVIL/WANK.
